Great laid-back race put on by Gone Riding. This is a fun and different triathlon that uses two transition areas for a swim, run, bike order. This year the water was wetsuit legal, but for those of us poor souls too cheap to buy and wear a wetsuit it was still managable. A bit chilly standing in the water for 10 mins or so waiting for the race start (read shivering), but nice once out and going.
Trail for the run was excellent. Not too tight and twisty – some roller up and downs and scenic. Similar on the bike. Nothing super technical like drops or major rock gardens.
There is a camp ground at Tsali — but it seemed to fill up fast. Plan ahead if you’re going to camp, and note that there aren’t any hotels very close to the race. And that’s what makes this race awesome. Super laid back, beautiful location, great running and biking trails. Thanks GoneRiding!
